Finally had the opportunity to have foolish playtime 🤡 with the wizard that is @baphometsbookclub at The Court of Cards: The Theatre of Tarot at @thepostbartottenham ! ♠️♦️🃏♣️♥️

What a bloody brilliant event full of Tarot themed fun, madness and subversiveness, exploring tarot as a way of creating social change. It was both parts silly and deeply moving, laughter and tears.

Can we find a way of creating a more peaceful society? With events like these we can. 🥲

And just to note the message from the Fool is... make time for more play and more silly - honk! honk! 🃏

Getting snobbish about what Tarot decks you should use is pointless - A good psychic will be able to read anything you put in front of them. In fact, changing the system up regularly brings fresh flow into the reading.

Although saying this, I always revert back to the 2015 version of the RWS for events because it's wipe-clean and easy to replace! 😂 The reason why I use this deck a lot. 😁

The divination method like Tarot is just the tool, the real talent is coming from the inner insight developed over time through training and life experience. It's not just about the cards!

but the underlying practices and currents aren’t limited to that framework.

If you want to get better at magick, you can’t be easily triggered by terminology.

Different systems use different language, but
that doesn’t change the current underneath it.

Learn to read beyond the surface as that’s where the power is.

Simultaneously, you don't want to practice anything that doesn't truly resonate with your Will.

My Mum is pure magic and introduced me to Tarot, p

My Mum is pure magic and introduced me to Tarot, psychic work and energy healing when I was a child.

We are Anglo-Indian, the psychic world is very much part of our blood. I still use many of the tools I inherited and keep them active in my work.

Although it was Mother’s Day yesterday *she* gifted *me* this beautiful ceremonial stand, perfect for my black obsidian scrying mirror! I'm in love. 🤩

If you'd like a reading that includes scrying, I offer that too. Some of my best readings are done through this. It’s a form of channeling through the reflective surface of the mirror.

For my own work with my HGA I use a beeswax mirror that I made myself. It now holds five years’ worth of consecrated oil layers from ongoing ritual.

Anywho, you don’t have to inherit magic or be initiated to practice, but being raised around it certainly gives you a head start and for that I'm thankful for @jenway33 🙏🏽

Most people learn Tarot the wrong way. And that'

Most people learn Tarot the wrong way.

And that's because they are obsessively attempting to remember every keyword in every book.

Words they wouldn't necessarily have chosen if they had a good, personal relationship with the cards.

So, I want you to put the tarot books down for a second!

The best way to understand Tarot is *not* memorising meanings from a book.

Pick up a card whichever calls to you.

And sit with it.

*Feel* the card.

If the image were alive, what would it be trying to say to you? Let the symbols speak to you.

👁️If you're not immediately picking anything up, you can hold the tarot card over your third eye like in the photo.

A great way to explore this further is to sleep with the card..

Placing it under your pillow and see what your dreams bring you... 🌙

As the unconscious often understands the language of the cards far better than the intellect.

Over time, you'll relate dreams, personal feelings, previous situations you have lived that relate to the cards, and develop your own personal understanding of them.

That's what counts.
